Job Description:
Objectives of the role:
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members in order to create an efficient and high performing team
  • Assist each team member to further develop their technical skills, personal skills and business acumen
  • To be an integral, high performance, outcomes driven, enthusiastic, contributor to the CoreLogic business
  • Deliver high quality deliverables, both personally and via the team
  • Provide professional and committed support to CoreLogic customers

Key Responsibilities:
  • Effectively manage deliverables for team as set out in regards to system stability, monitoring, enhancements, bug fixes, testing, documentation, and support
  • People leadership of engineers across multiple scrum teams
  • Provide technical leadership to Software Engineers
  • Ensuring our applications are all in/migrated to the cloud using the best technologies available
  • Contribute to ongoing product evolution to obtain best practice standards
  • Able to support multiple product/project streams at the same time
  • Have a detailed understanding of the development processes, as hands on work will be required
  • To lead and motivate the team
  • Ability to motivate and influence people
  • To build a culture of high performance and generate enthusiasm for new ideas
  • Liaise with other CoreLogic development teams to ensure that the latest best practices are deployed
  • Mentor (or arrange a mentor) for new team members
  • Ensure that approved process and practices are followed including those relating to development practices, QA (including design & code reviews) and release procedures
  • Support a 24*7 Production System with the high demands for availability and reliability as would be expected of very large financial institutions.
Job Qualifications:
Key Competencies Required:
To be successful in this role the key competencies required include:
  • Strong technical skills at the senior developer level
  • Good people skills, preferably with experience as a team leader or at least exhibiting good skills in working with people and helping them to reach their full potential
  • Good planning skills and scheduling
  • Good communication, both oral and written, including formal technical documents
  • Good networking skills in order to build cooperative relationships with other teams in the company
  • Able to self manage particularly in an environment where teams can be physically remote from their manager
  • Work within guidelines but know when to escalate when issues fall outside those guidelines
  • Good skills in reporting progress and highlighting issues that threaten deadlines or team/personal productivity
Experience and Education Required:
  • Tertiary degree in Computer Science or related discipline highly regarded
  • At least 10 years experience in development shops, with a minimum 3 years at the senior developer level
  • Solid experience in Java/ReactJS and/or related technologies
